My posts have been rather gloomy and miserable this year, with rubbish weather, lockdowns and a general lack of fitness to complain about, so I’m glad I can post something a bit more upbeat.
The Tring Ultra is only a week away. It used to terrify me but right now I’m actually rather excited about it! I decided to make some lifestyle changes (basically stopped eating) after the MK Marathon in May which has had a massive impact on my running. I’ve lost over 21 pounds (1.5 stone) in weight, and averaging 45-50 miles a week. This year started off as one of my worst performing, but now it’s looking like one of my best (I recently hit the 1,000 mile mark for 2021).
I’m still not back to my full fitness yet but I am very confident I can finish the Tring Ultra. I’m already thinking about booking the Ridgeway 40 for next year too! Really happy to be back to doing what I love.
