2023 Running Report — Pauls got the runs

2023 Running Report

It’s been another slow year for my running, plagued with the usual issues of low motivation and high anxiety preventing me from getting out there with decent training.

Despite this I managed to hit a pretty big milestone with my 10th MK Marathon, which bagged me their special 10 year ‘legends’ medal! It was pretty good to see all the medals together, that’s a lot of running!

A collection of MK Marathon finisher medals from multiple years laid out on a wooden surface, showing the variety of designs across different editions.

The only other event I ran was an extremely muddy (and tiring) Dirt Half. I’m glad I took part, it was the toughest this event has been, but still a lot of fun.

A hand holds up the 2023 Dirt Half Challenge finisher medal, a large round silver design featuring a running shoe and the word FINISHER on a camouflage ribbon.

While my training and mileage have been a bit inconsistent I did spend some time giving this website some love with a new redesign which I’m quite pleased with. It's actually quite motivating to read through this from time. It might not always feel like I’m making much progress, but it’s great to be able to visualise all of the runs over the years.

I’m moving into the new year with plenty of optimism and motivation to get back on track. I’d like to be able to write about one or two 50k events this time next year!
